Ridge to Reef - Co-Organised by Make a Difference (MAD) Travel
The ridge-to-reef approach underscores the interconnectedness of uplands, coasts, and communities in building climate resilience. This session explores how ecosystems and natural capital can be systematically integrated into governance, policy, and finance. Tourism and waste management are also vital to sustaining ecosystems from mountains to seas, and the panel will highlight approaches that draw on indigenous wisdom, regenerative tourism models, and circular economy innovations. Through insights from practice, research, and policy, speakers will illustrate how biodiversity protection can move beyond isolated projects toward institutionalized, cross-sector action—advancing climate justice, reducing plastic pollution, restoring ecosystems, and ensuring that cultural and natural wealth remain enduring sources of resilience and well-being.

The Action Triangle
The Action Triangle is a collaborative tool to overcome fragmented and accountability gaps in climate action by providing a shared responsibility framework where citizens, businesses, and government as co-actors who each commit to action while enabling one another. Participants map best practices, gaps, and opportunities, build bridges across citizens, business, and government, and commit to collaborative actions for collective impact. These commitments converge into a Knowledge Hub (sharing insights), a Network of Practice (cross-sector partnerships), and Financing Pathways (access to grants, CSR, loans, bonds, blended finance, and carbon markets).
